Bootstrapping the TUNES HLL in C

No language is suitable to program TUNES in. All languages are equally unsuitable. Therefore, it doesn't matter which one we use. I am using C because I know it better than any other programming language.

Known Bugs

Saving and loading the image file does not work. Use EOF (Ctrl-D in UNIX) to exit TUNES. When saving and loading are functional, you will be able to use command #7 to exit and save your work.

More bugs will be listed here as they are discovered.

What to do

This is alpha code, but you can beta test it anyway. Read the list of commands. Try all of them. Try to make it crash. Then, e-mail me your results.

Here is a sequence of commands that demonstrate how to create your own command and run it. Enter them in order, and observe the output at each step.

• 4 1 3 (shows objects 0-7 in use)
• 4 0 1 (create a new object)
• 4 1 3 (shows objects 0-8 in use)
• 4 4 8 (put a 4 in object 8)
• 4 1 8 (put a 1 in object 8)
• 4 3 8 (put a 3 in object 8)
• 4 8 3 (display object 8)
• 8 (evaluate object 8)

Future Plans

• Fix saving and loading to tunes.img
• Better documentation- overview of the system so far, descriptions of all the commands, and more examples to try.
• Strings- All primitive objects will come with names, and you will be able to name the new objects that you create. Then you'll be able to type some normal-looking commands, instead of memorizing numbers.
